James River Steamer March 24. 1855 My Dear Sir; I wrote you a hurried note from Baltimore enclosing the Deed for your mother. After having enclosd the Deed I was informd by the Comisr. that it would be necessary to send the Deed to Albany to have his appt. as Comissioner authenticated from that quarter before he is recogniz'd by the Clerk of Records in the City. This will give you a little more trouble, but not much, and then the matter will be perfected. There was no United States Judge in Baltimore but the Chief Justice whose health was bad, and I would not therefore disturb him. We are approaching home on our return, after a most delight ful trip. The Ladies have been highly [?] with the [?] facd them, and I had on Tuesday night a brilliant audience of 4000 persons. The address was well recievd and a committee of the Institute requested it for publication. When it appears I will send you a copy. Your present of the gloves and neck head kerchief came in the nick of time. With affectionate regards Truly Yrs John Tyler Col. D.L. Gardiner J. Tyler Col. David L.
