Villa Margaret August 21, 1858 My Dear Sir; You will find enclosed a check on the Farmers Bank of Virginia for Twenty five Dollars for the artist who has copied Margaret's portrait. Please fill up with his name and hand it to him recieving the Portrait in return. Also a check in favour of yourself for Twelve Dollars with which to purchase a frame. Direct to the care of Massinburg & Cary Hampton, Virginia. If you would see the Captain of the Steamer Jamestown or Roanoke and call his attention to the Box, it would be strictly attended to. Be pleases to pay the frieght and charge it to me and forward Bill of Lading. Julia has explained to you the cause of any error in my last letter to you as to balances between us. If you will make a statement and read it on any balance due you will be settled. "This country of Virginia" produces half crop of wheat and in many parts the crops of corn are utterly destroyed. We have therefore a fair prospect for hard times. Yours Truly & affectionately, John Tyler Dear Brother, I wish to add a word to the above. Be sure to send the picture as early as possible. I suppose it can very well come by the Saturday steamer which is the Jamestown Captain Panish. I will direct the Captain of the steamboat which was between Norfolk and Hampton to inquire for it on the steamer's arrival in Norfolk, and bring it himself to Hampton. When are you all coming? I had a curious dream about you the other night. -Your sister Julia
