Thursday Cincinnati. August 7th 1856. Mr. Robert Tyler. My dear friend, Myself & Mr. Edward Renefeck will leave this city for the Eastern cities on Monday next 11th vist. We will arrive in New York about Wednesday morning, and I think will see you by Thursday night or Friday morning 15th vist. Our object is to visit the clerks of the different cities & collect the one thousand dollars to pay the expenses of our trial last January. Not one dollar has ever been paid. The association is pledged for the amount and that pledge must be redeemed - one dollar per man would soon sweep it off. We have promised our lawyers that they should not be kept out of their money but a few weeks longer. The amount due them should have been paid them on the instant, seven months ago. Please notify the officers so as that the clerks will be prepared for us. I will write to Michael Comber & to Col. Couroy this day. I would suggest that you call a meeting of the officers of all the clubs for Friday night the 15th vist. Mr. Renefeck & myself will be there. Ever yours, Devotedly I am S. Lunsden N. B. We will put up at the "American Hotel" Cincinnati Yours, S. Lunsden Samuel Lunsden Cincinnatti Augt. 1 1856
