Abstract: Proper form of letters to M[aury] & L[atham]; all at home enjoyed his description of his travels; encloses letters for General Wade Hampton and Mr. London [not present]; instructs him to get introduced to the Secretary of the Treasury and ask him about the invoices; death of Mr. Isaac Brookes; hopes he will call on Col[onel] Morris; he, Mrs. Maury, and Ann to go to Buxton on the 8th; James returned from Whitworth last week; Matt[hew] seems to be enjoying the tobacco business sends regards. 3 pages. Autograph Letter Signed. Includes typed transcription of letter.
