Abstract: Has appealed to President James Buchanan on behalf of [Henry] May, who seems to be leaning toward [Hugh] Buchanan [for a political appointment],- suggests that May stand firm, and if not selected, "acquiesce with grace"; himself nor his family not well; is "disgusted with Washington," and would like to see more "positive men here." 3 pages.
