Informs Wise that "He [Buchanan] distinctly declares himself opposed to squatter sovereignty"; he says that if elected president, he intends being President; Buchanan told Tyler that his plans were influenced by him; encloses an article from the Citizen that Wise should have published in a Richmond paper, the editor of the Citizen prefers him [HW] for the Presidency.
