The ledger runs to around 748 pages, with the first part containing an alphabetized list of customers with a number identifying their account page in the ledger and the second containing records of transactions and payments from 1923-1927 with customer's name at the head of each page. Customer names include Baruch, Berry, Bonneville, Bright, Cotter, Deal, Demmock, Dunston, Emerson, Enos, Fahn, Gwyn, Hall, Hart, Johnson, Jones, Mahoney, Marshall, Martins, Nicolson, Noland, Nuttall, Oliver, Powers, Ruff, Sales, Sandergrift, Scott, Smith, Sterling, Stirling, Stugle, Tayewell, Upson, Williams, Winchester, and Wither, as well as the Presbyterian Church. Laid in between pages 174 and 175 is a form letter from the State Teachers College in Fredericksburg, Virginia, addressed "To high school seniors" encouraging them to attend the college. |
